I review your spa with a practical understanding of every role, from the treatment room to hotel management.
A hotel spa audit helps you understand why the spa is not performing as planned, or prepares a decision. Activity is flat, local clients do not come, the guest journey creates friction, or a takeover is being prepared.
For an existing spa, I always start with a site visit. I review the spaces, tools and current team to identify gaps, then set the priorities with management. Every recommendation must lead to a decision, document or action.
01
What a spa audit looks at
An audit goes through the areas that make a hotel spa work. Positioning and treatment menu, guest journey, operating model, procedures, software, team organisation and coordination with the hotel.
These are the areas I work on. I review them starting from your spaces, guests, constraints and existing teams.
02
On site, during operation
The visit is essential to understand the space, meet the team and grasp how the property operates. I see the spa as it runs.
Available documents, such as forecasts or schedules, complete this review. Low occupancy can come from the menu, opening hours, communication with the front desk or staff schedules, which is why the cause comes before the answer.
03
From gaps to priorities
The gaps identified are used to set priorities with management, according to the project stage, available resources and decisions already made.
Every recommendation must lead to a decision, document or action. I produce clear working tools that the team can use.
04
After the audit
The audit can lead to a specific project. Reworking the treatment menu, rewriting procedures, developing the team or repositioning the spa.
I then organise the changes needed. Documentation and follow-up can progress remotely, while site visits and tests stay close to the operation.
Frequently asked questions
When should a hotel audit its spa?
When activity does not match the forecast, before a takeover or repositioning, when new management arrives, or when the team and guests report recurring difficulties. An audit also helps decide where to invest.
How long does a spa audit take?
It depends on the size of the spa, the areas to review and the documents available. It is a point to clarify in a first conversation about your project.
Is the audit carried out on site?
Yes. I always visit the property at the start of the project to see the spa in operation and meet the team. Documentation and follow-up can then progress remotely.
Does the audit cover the spa’s profitability?
I do not produce the business plan. I review the organisation, the menu and the schedules, and the demand scenarios I build provide the operating assumptions for financial forecasts.
