Hotel spa consultant in Mauritius
Your Mauritian hotel’s spa is running, but its results or service level no longer match the rest of the property? I’m a consultant in hotel spa openings and operations. I also work on takeovers and repositioning.
I’m based in Finistère, France, and travel to Mauritius for projects. I always start with a site visit, then the work continues remotely and on site depending on the stage.
01
A mature market of around 14,000 rooms
The island received 1,436,250 tourists in 2025, 3.9% more than in 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism. Statistics Mauritius series counted a record 14,112 hotel rooms in December 2025, then 13,477 in June 2026. National hotel occupancy reached 72% in 2024, according to an analyst presentation by the hotel group Sun Ltd in September 2025.
In an established market like this one, a spa project can be a new build as much as an existing spa that needs to be brought up to the hotel’s level.

French guests and a quieter start to the year
In the fiscal year ending June 2025, France accounted for 24% of air arrivals, ahead of the UK (11%) and Reunion Island (10%). In 2025, arrivals from France and the UK dipped slightly (down 0.6% and 2%), while India grew 33.5%. A treatment menu written mainly for European guests deserves a fresh look with these new guests in mind.
In December 2025, the Minister of Tourism acknowledged that January, February and March had been weak, before figures rose month after month from April. The quiet months are the time to review the menu, train the team and work on local clients.

What I bring to a takeover in Mauritius
As Hotel Manager of Jeanne & Jules in Brittany, I ran a spa after its opening and tracked its performance day to day. At the Villars Palace in Switzerland, I built the menu, procedures and team of an 800 sqm spa.
On an existing spa, I start with a review of the spaces, menu, tools, team and figures. I set priorities from it, then put the changes in place with the team, along with a dashboard to track their effect.
My full method is described on the hotel spa consulting page.
Frequently asked questions
Do you travel to Mauritius?
Yes. The review happens on site, alongside the team and the guests. I then come back to support the changes as they go live.
Which languages do you work in?
I work in French and English. Documents for the team follow the hotel’s working language.
How does an assignment work remotely and on site?
The first visit is for the review. I then write my recommendations, the new menu and procedures remotely, with regular check-ins with management. I come back on site to train the team on the changes and check they hold up day to day.
