Hotel spa consultant in the UK and Ireland
Do you run a hotel with a spa in London, the Cotswolds, Scotland or Ireland, and the spa isn’t performing as it should? I’m a consultant in hotel spa openings and operations. I work on organisation, team, treatment menu and procedures.
I’m based in Finistère, France, and travel for projects. I come on site at the start of the assignment, then the work moves forward remotely and on site depending on the stage.

Almost 3,800 spas in the UK
The Global Wellness Institute counts 3,797 spas in the UK, in figures published in 2024, and sector revenue of US$3.2 billion in 2022. In the first half of 2025, UK hotels ran at 74.6% occupancy with an average daily rate of £114.53, according to CoStar. London received 20.9 million international visits in 2024.
In Ireland, hotel occupancy reached 78.4% in 2025, up from 77.8% in 2024, with an average rate of 174 euros, up 3%, according to STR data shared by Fáilte Ireland.

Therapists are hard to recruit
According to the UK Spa Association’s 2025 survey of 108 operators, 35% of spas have therapist vacancies, down from 44% in 2024. For 11% of them, a role has been open for more than six months.
In this context, keeping the team matters as much as hiring. Schedules that hold, clear procedures and a team that understands its figures help keep the right people.

I’ve been a therapist, spa receptionist, Assistant Spa Manager, Spa Manager and Hotel Manager. I know the reality of each role, from the treatment room to management, and that is what guides my audits.
